The plastic case's feel isn't satisfying. But the manufacturer avoids taking a bigger "risk" this way. Overall, the design looks a bit too conservative and dull. The textured and rubberized display lid adds a small highlight. This laptop is not the right choice for aficionados of designer objects or products. The Vostro 1540 stands out from the other devices with a silver stripe.
